The time has come.
It is finally time for my one way trip home.
It just felt so routine, so, well, uneventful. Until I think of the friends that stayed behind. It would not matter too much, though. Friends are scattered all over the world now, and the only thing that we have left in common is out home in Taipei. Not even Taipei, for some of us. But it's still better than nothing.
I will miss you all. Especially Joan and Clara, who are like sisters to me. But we all have to move on. Gloria moved back to Tainan after completing PhD; Luhai is working in Singapore; Daniel might end up working either in Taiwan or West Coast; Joan got a nice place in Folsom; and some many others who will be leaving soon.
I guess Joan was right, Champaign is a gateway for us for our life's transformation. Idea changed, faith grow, and people simply believe.
I might not have taken much with me as I fly out, but I left with a full heart of memories. I will miss you guys, but it is now time to move on. Keep in touch, and I hope that our path will cross again someday.
