I have always had mixed feeling towards writing reports. On one hand, I appreciate the opportunity it gives me to gain more knowledge on a topic that I am previously unfamiliar with; on the other hand, writing a full report instead of summarizing the given information is not exactly a strong point for an engineer, at least not for me.
Sometimes I do wonder, though, that given how lazy I am, would I really have learned as much if it wasn't the pressure of writing reports pushing me onward. This reminds me of the personal statement I wrote for my graduate school application, I would never be able to come up with something like that if I have not been working on an anthropology report earlier that week. Even my friends were surprised by how good the personal statement sounded.
Anyway, just some thoughts that popped up when I was busy reading through papers and stuff. Good luck with whatever you're doing to whoever that's reading this ;).
p.s. good online resources for engineers looking for information:
www.engineeringvillage2.org
Engineering Village 是一個很棒的綜合資料庫,不過是個付費網站...我會常用是因為我們學校的圖書館已經有付費了 =P"
不過裡面能找到的資料真得很多 ^^
ntrs.nasa.gov
這邊有NASA歷年來所有解密過的報告,有些可以直接看,有些要花錢去買,不過還算是不錯的研究資料庫 ^^
