Wolf Can Fly, Too

It was hot.

A sunny day with no clouds and a 95 degree temperature.

It was hot.

We drank at least a liter of water each, and tried to stayed in the shades as much as possible as we walked through the zoo.

Most of the animals we saw simply crowd under the trees. I guess human is the only race that would walk under this heat and still be happy and excited about it. We are also the only one who would expose out not-fur-covered skin directly under the sun.

Anyway, after getting out of the zoo, we decided to have a late lunch at a Thai restaurant that featured high A/C setting and ice cold water. That was nice.

Since we were all exhausted from the walking and the heat from the first part of the day, we decided to sit in the park for the rest of the day, at least until dark, before heading towards the observatory. Dinner was decided to be a picnic, and we bought sandwiches from Von's.

The observatory was the second refractive telescope observatory. The first one was the one on UIUC campus, possibly the largest in the Mid-West. The telescope was pointed in the direction of Saturn, and having already seen images of Saturn in Champaign, I was the only one to not show much excitement. It was cool to see the Saturn ring and Titan the moon, but, well, I have seen it before.

There was a museum with exhibits on astronomy related topics on the lower levels of the observatory. We arrived a bit late to observe the dark spots on the Sun, but we all took some pictures with Mr. Einstein's statue.

The next day we spent here was less tourist like. Me and Ryan went golfing on a 9 hole course, while Katie decided that sport is boring and would rather spend time getting massaged at a spa. It was a good time, and I beat Ryan by a stroke, with unfamiliar course and unfamiliar club set. I bet I could do a lot better if playing with my own set, which was sold to a friend last week.

We went back to the apartment to prepare stuff for the 4th of July party, and went to a bar after that.

And all is done.

The next day would be the Independent day.
