Forth of July.
The Independent day of United States of America.
There were debates on the intention of the founding Fathers of the U.S., but let us overlook that and skip right to the celebration.
It does not matter, anyway.
So what is 4th of July like, pure American style? Alcohol, red meat, chips, and drunk games; oh, yeah, and how can I forget the fireworks.
We began the preparation of the party, which is held at Ryan's place by his roommate, Squiggly. Anyway, we prepared some cocktail with wine and liqueur called Sangria, a Spanish style punch.
The party started out at noon, but the first guest did not appear until thirty minutes later. It slowly gained speed, though, and more then half of Ryan's group showed up. It was quite interesting to see his boss drunk, red, and loud, while his project manager just sit there and smile.
We had some good lamb burger, hot dog, fruit salad, salsa and chips. Lots of chips. Squiggly told people to bring chip or drink when they come in, and we ended up with a full shelf of chips even after the party, as well as a full shelf of beer.
It finally came to the time to head out for the fireworks. The apartment is nicely situated near the beach, which was crowded with people by the time we got there. We found a nice spot near the sand volleyball court. The firework was great, even better then the one I saw in Pittsburgh. I guess that's because the higher taxes they pay over here.
My thought after partying from 12pm to midnight? Exhausted, tired, and extreme longing for bed.
It was great, but once is enough.
