I went on a day trip in Singapore yesterday.
But I got lazy, and did not type it out until now. So what?
Anyway, I left in the morning with a tourist map and a MRT smart card. After stopping by a shopping center to get a pair of shorts, I went on my way to Vivo city, right outside of Sentosa.
Sentosa is more like a tourist attraction then anything else, which means that everything there cost money. Well, since I haven't got my first month's salary yet, I decided to postpone the trip to some other time, maybe next month. There's no such thing as winter over here anyway.
SO I ended up with a day trip to the city center (see map below, dashed lines = trip via MRT)
Well, since I accidentally deleted the part about Chinatown and Clarke Quay, I will just leave them out for now. There wasn't much to say, anyway, at least for Chinatown.
Anyway, on my way over to the Merlion statue, I came across the Singaporean National Day Rehearsal, and saw the huge flag carried by the Chinook with two Apaches acting as color guard, as well as the F-16 formation (see album for pictures.)
Lesson learned: never go on a trip without doing your homework first, or it will just turned out to be like any other hiking trip, and the only thing you'll get out of it is loosing a few pounds (or gain a few if you try out all the local specialties.) Well, next time would be better, I have plenty of time to explore the area.
