The computer is not working.
The equipment is not working.
Oh, well, at least I did something...figuring out what's wrong, that is. The good thing about on a research grant from the university is that there is no deadline to meet certain goal at certain short period of time. There is plenty of time to figure out what is wrong.
I reinstalled Linux on my computer today, and this time I will install the software by the book, instead of having the other guy installing it for me. Hopefully this will solve the problem. It is kind of interesting that with so many engineering software build mainly for the Linux system, almost no one in our lab has much experience with Linux.
I did my first experiment today in the water tunnel lab. It wasn't much, just a few runs to validate the setup to existing data, no big deal. Well, the angle of attack reader was never working, and it would be a few weeks until someone is sent to fix it, we have to eye the angle and stuff. I made a few scaled printout of a ruler so 1cm~1deg of turning, but then the force balance is giving me weird data.
At least there's no deadline, lol.
